Our First Anniversary!

Happy Belated Anniversary to us!! We finally hit our first year of being married! Because I couldn't take Friday or today off, we kept it local this weekend. We headed north and watched a hilarious play! We walked through shops and then went to dinner! We had a good time spending the day together. We took a few days off later in the month to (as Jonathan says) "go on our Honeymoon again!" Two weeks seems so far away! I can't wait!

Happy Anniversary My Love and Very Best Friend! Thank you for a great first year! Thinking of our wedding day, I remember how happy I was to be marrying you! The joy we felt that day was overwhelming! I can't explain it! It felt so unreal to think, this is our wedding day, the day we eagerly waited for! Walking down the aisle I tried so hard not to cry! Thinking about the days, weeks, and months that followed I can't help but get choked up! We truly have been blessed! With every curve ball life has thrown us just in our first year you have been my peace! I can face anything with you by my side! There's no one else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with! You are my one and only! I'd marry you all over again! I live for your happiness! There's a special place in my heart only you and God can touch! I am yours forever! I love you gorgeous!

I am mentally exhausted.....

I Remember...

This time last year we were counting down the final days before our wedding! How excited we were to FINALLY be bride and groom! We counted every "last" time as an engaged couple! The Wednesday before our wedding we kept reminding each other it would be our last church service as "singles" Lol. I was so embarrassed when we came back! I knew everyone would be watching us just like we all do when we have newlyweds in the church! And they did! We got a lot of "aww's" and "ooh's" for a while! I remember we couldn't stop smiling! And I'm happy to say we haven't stopped!

I love my husband!

Prayer Request

Please pray for the family of Brandon McBride. Only 10 years old, Brandon was tragically killed when he was hit by a car while riding his atv. Please pray for driver as well. The driver was not at fault. I can't imagine how this has effected him as well as Brandon's family.

Taking the Day Off!

I hope everyone is enjoying Labor Day! We sure are! Any paid Holiday off is a good day! Here is some history on Labor Day! Enjoy your day off all of you hard laborers!!

Labor Day is an annual holiday observed on the first Monday in September to celebrate the economic and social achievements of laborers which consists of most of us. It represents an annual national tribute to the contributions we as laborers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

The history of Labor Day in the United States dates back in September 5, 1882 in New York City in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. By 1884, the first Monday in September was selected as the holiday to celebrate Labor Day, as originally proposed by the union. Since then, the Central Labor Union urged similar organizations in other cities to follow the example of New York and celebrate a “workingmen’s holiday” on that date.

With the growth of labor organizations, the idea spread and it became a federal holiday in 1894, when, following the deaths of a number of workers at the hands of the U.S. military and U.S. Marshals during the Pullman Strike, President Grover Cleveland put reconciliation with the labor movement as a top political priority. Because of a fear of conflict, legislation making Labor Day a national holiday was rushed through Congress unanimously and signed into law a mere six days after the end of the strike. By June 28 of 1894, Congress passed an act making the first Monday in September of each year a legal holiday in the District of Columbia and the territories.

Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. The holiday is often regarded as a day of rest and parties. In terms of US sports, Labor Day marks the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons. NCAA teams usually play their first games the week before Labor Day, with the NFL traditionally playing their first game the Thursday following Labor Day.

Happy Birthday Sis. Hale!!

Today we celebrate another special birthday: my MIL, and Pastor's Wife, Sis. Hale!

You know, it's so easy to just looove Sis. Hale. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with her would agree with me! The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Sis. Hale is that she really is a prayer warrior. I know God doesn't have favorties, but if he did, she would be one of them! She is the epitome of what every Christian lady should be. I used to tell myself, I could never be a preacher's wife because Sis. Hale is so soft spoken and so graceful. She will be the first to say, she's not perfect, but I say, she's flawless! Sis. Hale never has a bad hair day either! She always looks nice and so classy. And I know the term, "Jack of all trades" is usually used when you are referring to a male, but Sis. Hale is a "jack of all trades." She does everything! Seriously!

So for today Sis. Hale, I hope you do anything your heart desires and nothing but enjoy the day and your mini vacation! It is much deserved!! I hope you have a relaxing birthday weekend! And thank you for being the best Mother-in-law anyone could ask for!!! You are far more appreciated than you realize!
