Ice Cream Anyone?

Last night we had all the young people from our church over for an ice cream bash. Everyone brought their favorite topping! It was like our very own Cold Stone at home!! I had too much! Then we played pictionary! Our team won! Fun times.

Today was one of my best friends baby shower! Julie looks so cute! She got a lot of nice things for Baby Girl Lujan! We had fun. Got to see some of my closest friends from high school. Its always interesting catching up with old friends. We say we will keep in touch but we usually don't! But when we do get to meet up its just like old times! I can't believe its been 4 years since I graduated!

Heaven's Grocery Store

I was walking down life's highway a long time ago.
One day I saw a sign that read, "Heaven's Grocery Store".
As I got a little closer the door came open wide,
and when I came to myself I was standing inside.
I saw a host of Angels, they were standing everywhere.
One handed me a basket and said, "My Child shop with care".
Everything a Christian needs is in that grocery store,
and all you can't carry, come back the next day for more.

First, I got some Patience, Love was in the same row.
Further down was Understanding, needed everywhere you go.
I got a box or two of Wisdom, a bag or two of Faith,
I just couldn't miss the Holy Ghost, it was all over the place.
I stopped to get some Strength and Courage to help me run this race,
but then my basket was getting full, and I remembered I needed Grace.

I didn't forget Salvation, which like the others was free,
so I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me.
Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill,
for I thought I had everything to do my master's will.
As I went up the aisle, I saw Prayer and had to put it in,
for I knew when I stepped outside, I would run right into sin.
Peace and Joy were plentiful, they were on the last shelf.
Song and Praises were hanging near, so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the Angel, "How much do I owe"?
The Angel smiled and said, "Just take them everywhere you go."
Again, I politely asked "How much do I really owe?"
The Angel smiled again and said, "My Child, Jesus Paid Your Bill A Long Time Ago."

2 Months Short

We are now 2 months away from our First Anniversary!! It is so crazy how fast time has passed!

Some know of my interest in the Kennedy's (JFK and Jackie in particular). Don't ask me why because I really couldn't explain. The Kennedy's were a pretty corrupt family. It all started with Jackie and her style of clothing. Now I have a collection of books on, not only Jackie, but the rest of the Kennedy clan. What is crazy is that after Jon and I were married I found out that we share our wedding day, September 12, with JFK and Jackie. I never knew that before. I thought that was interesting. But I definitely DO NOT want a marriage like they had! Pretty cool fact though! Just thought I'd share!

Our Remedy

Jonathan and I both agreed we want to wait a while before having kids. A long while. But.... Every once in a while I think I get way too excited about the thought of us having our own little rugrats! Babies are so precious! And Jonathan starts to worry when I run my fingers through the kids clothes section of different department stores! Our remedy?.......
The other day we talked to my little sisters about taking turns to stay over night with us. The girls agreed not to wine when it wasn't their turn. This won't happen everyday but it will give the girls a chance to go somewhere without sharing the attention with their sisters and it will also serve as our reminder: we are not ready for our own kids!

So we started with Nikki on Thursday! We had fun with Nikki. We had to sneak her off without the other sisters knowing. Tino told me Brandi and Star were looking for her and said she is a good hider! Lol. So later that night Star calls me and says I needed to check my car for Nikki! It was so funny. When Star found out we took her, she said we needed to bring her home. "She is in trouble because she didn't ask." I say, "but Star what if I ask Mommy now?" Star said "Its too late and the answer is no!" LoL.
She finally agreed to let Nikki stay.

So last night we had Brandi with us! She asks so many questions! Jonathan says Brandi and I are a lot alike! Sometimes he will call me Brandi just to joke around. Some have said Brandi looks like me. Last nite Brandi needed me to hold her! If I dare let her go, "Brittany, you're not holding me. Did you forget?" This is going to be interesting!

This morning we had pancake tacos! With vanilla ice cream inside and strawberries and whip cream on top! Yummy!

Star is next!

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

I started at my new job today! It was somewhat interesting and really, I am kind of excited! I will have crazy hours but it's ok! God has a plan! I'm so used to being with my husband most of the day and I must say, I really did miss him today! I got home at 2 and he just got home a few minutes ago! So the night is ours! I love my life!
