Fun in the Sun!

I have to say, I enjoy selling fireworks! It's hot and sometimes inconvenient but I really do enjoy sitting outside surrounded by people from the church. If you like to read, you can grab a chair, put your shades on, and get lost in a good book. I like when it gets busy and we get to see people from the city! On the 4th we have a drawing and we give away fireworks so it is always interesting to see all the people that show up! You would think the whole city came out! The way I see it, we're gonna be out here a few hours, might as enjoy it! It's for the kingdom of God, I'm not complaining!

Pacific Coast Camp 2010

Camp was awesome!! We came home and jumped right into fireworks! Things have been pretty crazy so I feel like I have no time to post!

The preaching was so annointed! Bro. Howard always does so good! And I really did enjoy Bro. Davis! We got to camp Wednesday night, there was no preaching. Thursday morning, boy did Bro. Howard preach! Some of the things mentioned I had never heard of before! But how true it is, sexual sin is very much like idolatry. You are putting your flesh, your desires before God who should be first in your life! Like Joseph did with Potiphar's wife, we need to flee, run as fast as we can from sin!

There's so much more to say about camp and the preahing, and I will later! It's so funny to me, because most people who will cross this blog were either at camp or will have already heard about camp!

Bro. Kendrick referred to one of his girls saying something on the lines of, "We just like the plain preacher." How blessed we are to have pastors and speakers who will just preach it the way it is! My heart's desire to stick with the old paths! More than anything, I want to make Heaven my home! I want Holiness! I want to see the King of Kings and hear him say, "Well done thy good and faithful servant!

Goodbye to the Hot, Dry Valley!

Off to camp we go! I am so excited! We weren't planning on going but we decided Stefani needed us!

And it's just getting hotter!! The weather will be so nice in Ventura!!

I've never heard Bro. Davis preach but I have heard Bro. Howard and he has become one of my favorite!!

I will start working for the State of California as an Office Technician July 1, so my husband decided we should take a mini vacation before then! Camp, here we come!!!

So I missed Fathers Day

Fathers day weekend was pretty busy so I didn't post to wish fathers a happy fathers day, but I didn't forget my Dads!

Saturday we celebrated Fathers Day with Dad(Hale). We had an awesome dinner! Everything was so yum! We sat outside for a while, the weather was so nice! Then back inside for a game of Monopoly.

Sunday morning we went to church and attendance was pretty slim since so many left for camp. We had a scheduled barbeque for everyone who did say behind but because there was such a small group of us, Pastor(Dad Hale) gave us the rest of the day off. We went to visit with my mom and the girls. Dad(Tino) had to take some classes in San Francisco to keep his Physicians Assistant license up to par.

We had all of the family, a couple from the church, Hope and Adrian, and our friends, Josh and Delanie Sailer over for a barbeque and for some games. We all had a good time. When we finished eating we played a game of Pictionary and then to the garage for some ping pong!

This morning Jonathan and I went over to my moms to give Dad(Tino) his Fathers day gift and card! I made a photo book through shutterfly of the triplets, with some of Adri and I throughout the book. It was fun to make and I will try to post it later for your viewing! I also used shutterfly to make my own personalized card. (Shutterfly is awesome!) And to my surprise, Tino cried when he opened the book!! So of course it made my mom and I cry! That was so unexpected! I love moments like that!!! I was so glad I gave him the book! It was perfect! I kind of felt like I wasn't giving him enough but his emotions showed me that he didn't need something grand and expensive but something from the heart! That's what we all need! So I encourage you to take time to make your gifts personal! I love my family!!

"It's not where you go or what you do, it's who is beside you that counts."

What was your Fathers Day like?

What A Drive!

Yesterday Jon, Mom(Hale), and I took a fast trip to L.A. My husband was in desperate need of some new suits! (He's packed on a few pounds since we've been married, which is A-OK with me!) I love every single suit we purchased! I absolutely love the way he looks in gray so of course we had to get a gray suit! And yesterday I found out that he looks... very... striking in taupe (not that I ever doubted that fact)! He got a few others as well. They all look so nice on him! He's so handsome , he looks good in everything! He could have talked me into buying anything! We grabbed some ties to match too! He is going to look soo good! I love shopping with him!

Prayer for New Converts

We are in revival! There have been so many young people that have came to our church here of late and a few families have been added to our church family! Thank you Jesus! God has been good to us! But in the midst of revival, we see and feel the onslaught of the enemy, the devil. In the midst of precious souls being added to the church, there has been an attack like never before! So today I ask whomever may come across this blog to join me in prayer for New Converts. Not just for those at my church but at yours as well. I hate to even use "New Converts" to label this awesome group of people! There is no limit to what God can to with them and through them! But my heart is heavy today. I have a tremendous burden for the new converts in our church. They all have so much potential and it breaks my heart to see them struggle! They are our promise from God! And the devil is trying to take them from us! But I refuse to give up without a fight! They belong to the Lord! And like the parable of the shepherd leaving ninety-nine sheep behind to go after the one who has gone astray, God does the same with us! Let us not leave one soul behind! Below is a list of our New Converts (not in any particular order):

Amaris Velasquez
Sammy Velasquez
Melissa Perez
Isaac Perez
Rosa Perez
Martha Gonzales
Albert Gonzales
Andy Jimenez
Angel Carrillo
Adrian Campos
Hope Galvan
Mike & Lydia Morales & Family
Stephany Paine
Socorro Huerta
Jonathan Huerta
Mykayla Huerta
David Lopez
Lori Perez
Yanet Garcia
Julian Marin Jr.

Will you join me in prayer for our New Converts?

So Bummed...

I am so very bummed Jonathan and I will not be able to attend Pacific Coast Camp!! :-(
I look forward to camp every year! Last summer was my last as a camper! How great camp has been. So many memories and memorials have been made at camp! I have to say Pacific Coast Camp was my favorite event of the year as a young person! (I absolutely LOVED On Course as well!) In preparing for camp, I just knew it would be great! A time to re-dedicate, re-consecrate, and be revived! So many messages have been stored in my mind and heart! So many friends made! I'm listening to camp cds now and I think I am going to get depressed! This year will be Stef's first camp without me! I am kinda bummed for her too! But she will have a blast! I loved the weather! I loved the recreation! But most of all, the pressence of God we felt! I am so thankful to my Pastor for allowing us to attend a camp such as Pacific Coast Camp! It is my hope and prayer that EVERY young person return renewed, restored, and on fire for God!

New Converts Fellowship

So Monday night we had a New Converts Fellowship at our house! It's pretty neat being involved with the new converts! One thing that I like is that it's not just one age group, so people get to mingle and talk with others they may not talk to if we didn't have things like this for them to mix. And it gives me a chance to get to know them as individuals! We started with prayer and began a game of Pictionary! Pictionary is one of my husband's favorite games! And he's pretty good at it! But he's pretty good at EVERYTHING! And I don't just say that because he's my husband, but seriously, anything he goes to do, it doesn't take long for him to pick up the trait and be the best! But this post is not about him so I will move on... So we decided to play guys against girls! And boy, did they beat us! We moved two spaces the whole game! But it was so much fun! Usually I hate losing, but it was too fun to care! And oh how excited we got when us ladies were able to move ahead! We all let out screams, you would have thought we won the lottery! After Pictionary we had ice cream sundays with all the mix-ins! Yum yum! We went to the garage for ping pong! I was the only girl who would play so I played against my husband! We played best out of 3 and he won! But not by a long shot! I kept up pretty good! He just had no mercy! We are both very competitive, which has been fun thus far, but seriously, I think peopple put us on opposite teams just to see how competitive we can get, especially when we are against each other! No harm is ever done, just makes life interesting! Right?

Sunday

I love Sundays! And this Sunday was pretty awesome! Kids Power Hour was fun as always! Jonathan and I don't feel we are good with kids but we do what we can to help and we have a good time! A local minister in the church preached our Sunday morning service about Keeping the P.A.C.E. Patience. Acceptance. Challenge. Endurance. Sometimes in living for God, we feel like we are not progressing as fast as we would like to be, but if we understand how to keep the pace, we will get to the finish line! Those that participate in a "marathon" type of race are not racing to be the first to the finish line, but are more concerned with just crossing the finish line! If we apply that concept in our walk with God, we will understand that if we just keep on going forward, no matter how slow, no matter if we stumble, we will make it to Heaven!
Deatails of Sunday Night Service later! Awesome message from our pastor!
Take a moment to read the Seremity Prayer in its entirety...
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
(Although known most widely in its abbreviated form above, the entire prayer reads as follows:)
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did,
this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next. Amen.

Saturday

Saturday morning, my husband and I crawled out of bed and did some yard work! It was fun and we got a lot done! Next Saturday we will work on the backyard! We hired someone to do the yard but I guess they don't believe in pulling weeds! It's not cool that they don't but it gave us something to do together! If he slacks much more, we may just take up the project and do the yard ourselves on weekends! Which is fine with me, saves money and burns calories! Saturday night we babysat the triplets and what fun we had! They are too easy! And they went to sleep so fast!
